Because it's Christmas time once again, we have decided to give away comics this December. Unfortunately, this will only be available in Cebu, Philippines and Singapore! Lets just hope someone would upload a CBR copy of this thing.

little update

I have been meaning to post an update here but my schedule did not let up. If everything goes as scheduled, I will be very busy until the end of the year. But I am not complaining though, I was not able to update this blog and revamp the kawalo website, but that only means that we've got some clients that we have been busy with.

Even with a very busy schedule, I was still able to do some sketches for the blog. And here they are:

Just a little character design.

Still a work in progress, trying out coloring via photoshop.

it happened one saturday afternoon

Archie Uy, one of the best photographers in Cebu, and also an on-call photographer for Kawalo Concepts & Designs, has agreed to take some pictures of my first gundam kit one saturday afternoon.

I started with gundam or gunpla around march of this year. Archie doesn't know anything about gundam kits. So it took us the whole afternoon trying to figure out what good pose to put it in. I wanted some action poses but the paint has made the joints a little tight, so we were only able to get limited poses. I apologize to those people who requested action poses, I didn't want to force the kit.

If you want to see more of Archie's photographs, you may go to this site. And if you want to check out our little design company, kindly click this.

time in my hands.

I suddenly have time in my hands, which is a little weird in it self. I got to check my PC and my external drive for some files that I need to delete or organize, and I was also able to check the internet for the sole purpose of 'looking' at whatever is up with the net. Then I stumbled upon some 'things'.

First off, I found this old comic strip that I attempted but never really got the chance to work on:

Nothing followed it but Super Debil Robot Comics will be including this 'one shot' on its Comic Anthology to be released this month.

Another thing that I noticed are some pictures that I found on-line:

I am behind Kat (the only female in the bunch)

I am behind...er... Hulk!

at least this one, nothing is covering me. well, except for hair.

Yeah I know, My face is covered and I always wear black. But I didn't mean to always wear black and I am pretty sure that they didn't mean to cover me.

Well, I am now off to do some sketching to flex the drawing muscles, so I'll see you later!

Pluck

Gabe White and John Amor collaborated a few months back on a little sword and sorcery tale entitled PLUCK, and now they have found their way into Zuda’s October competition. It's like Lord of the Rings meets Huck Finn.

Come check it out >>> http://zudacomics.com/node/1488

If you guys wanna read more of the webcomic, They need y’all to vote. Here’s how:

1. Register an account at Zuda. It’s quick and free, and a confirmation email takes you right back to the site.

2. Go to PLUCK, and click on the VOTE button. It’ll change from Red to Tan.

3. Finally, add the comic to your favorites — this helps with the final tally as well.

4. Tell your friends!

Much appreciated, guys!

updates on life

Hello! I have been busy for the past few days. A lot of Filipinos are suffering due to Typhoon Ondoy. From where I'm from, everything is normal. But you just can’t help and be affected with what’s happening in your own country. It’s very disturbing; I hope everybody will be okay. I have been thinking since the other night about super-heroes during this trying time. If I had the ability to fly, I might be able to save some people, but then again, there were a lot of people in the Luzon area that has saved lives even without super powers.

All throughout the net, there is this news about Jacque Bermejo who made an ugly comment about the whole situation. I posted something about this on Kawalo Concepts & Designs’ Facebook account but I will not post that here.

I just hope everything will be okay again.

On the lighter side, I had a wonderful meeting with a local Comic Book Club here in Cebu and did some little drawings, meetings like these help me unwind and just relax with some friends. There were also meetings with the Super Debil Robot Comics, a local indie comic book publishing that I am a part of.

I am behind Kat (the only female during the meeting)

I was also hired as consultant of an up and coming travel agency here in Cebu. One reason for agreeing on being a consultant of this travel agency is that they have this great vision of the whole industry.

And oh, I am still late with some of my pages and the revamp sketch for our site at www.kawalodesign.com! Wish me luck!
